About Mathy

Hi. I’m Gabe Mays and I like to build things.

I made Mathy because I wanted it myself.

I wanted a convenient way to practice math and build automaticity on the go, without creating or managing Anki cards.

I’m working on learning more advanced math to support my journey into AI and robotics with limited time each day. Mathy is my attempt to see how much I can raise the ceiling by building automaticity.

Mathy helps you quickly recall facts, formulas, identities, common values, relationships and short mental procedures you’ve already learned.

I grouped early topics using US Common Core grade bands and later topics using established course pathways, then selected the skills that benefit from deliberate practice. Mathy complements a full math education. Instruction and richer problem solving build conceptual understanding and develop skills such as modeling, multi-step applications, and proofs.

The idea is a little counterintuitive: if Mathy works, you should eventually need it less. Because as something becomes automatic, its recommended reviews can move farther apart.
